Opening & discussion „Endusers“ Meyrick Kaminski

Eintritt frei.

Exhibition, video projection, discussion

By following the journey of particular vehicles from the industrialised west to the developing south, Meyrick Kaminski navigates the topography of contemporary globalisation and economics through the personal experience of a shared, common object.

The old vans, once used by Tischlereien, Raumaustattungen and Heizung-Sanitär companies are sold, overhauled and given a drastic, location-specific makeover. But no matter how far they have travelled, how lost in translation they may be, their origins never lag far behind. German decals are proudly retained, a babel of logos, slogans, and schrift. Here, freed from the rigours of grammar and syntax, language hurtles buoyantly along a new trajectory towards pure decorative abstraction.

The material that has been collected in Ghana and Germany is in the process of being developed into a documentary.

23rd Nov, 2013, at 19 p.m.. Free entry. The event will be held in English and German.
